It Is Time to Increase Children’s Environmental Awareness
It is going to be great if all teachers can teach children to love the Earth. Here are the things you can teach them.
Reduce Electricity
Tell children that lights and almost all appliances use energy, and that energy is in short supply. They should turn off the light when they leave a room, turn off the TV when they are no longer watching, and turn off the computer when they finish using it.
Save Water
We usually have less rain in summer; therefore, water sometimes gets cut off due to water shortage. If we save water all the time, we may have enough water all year long. Teach children to turn off the water when they are done. Don’t flush the toilet several times if it’s not necessary. Take quick showers instead of baths.
Learn to Recycle
Teach children to identify whether something can be recycled or not. Generally, paper, plastics, and leftovers can be recycled. Teach them to use the recycling bins. Ask them not to buy products that are over packaged. Don’t waste food. Buy recycled paper products. Try not to buy things that can never be recycled.
Reuse Things
Teach children to reuse things they used to throw away after one use. They can use a handkerchief instead of napkins. They can bring their own grocery bag when they go to the supermarket with their family. Use both sides of paper. Children can also donate their clothes, shoes or toys to charity. Don’t just throw them away.
Keep the Environment Clean
Tell children not to litter. They should always throw their garbage into the garbage can. When they see garbage on the floor, they should help clean it up.
