The Top 3 Qualities of a Good Teacher !!

As a student, we can easily identify which teachers are good and which ones are not. As a teacher, we all hope we are the good ones. There are qualities that good teachers have in common. We should always bear them in mind.

Here are the top 3 qualities a good teacher should have:

1. Patience. Some children are still accustomed to the home environment. They may not want to come to school. Their fears can cause them to have bad behavior. Thus, we will need a lot of patience to understand each of them. Some children may cry, scream, fight or run around. They may not listen to us. We should not get angry and yell at them. We should not ignore them. Instead, we should try our best to communicate with them. We should know their fears and needs, and help them develop a positive attitude.

2. Confidence. Teachers should never be shy. We should be fun and outgoing with children. Even if we are not a fun and outgoing person in the first place, we should always act like one in class. No children like quiet or boring teachers. On the other hand, not all children are angels. Don’t let one or two misbehaved children affect us too much. Never lose our confidence. However, don’t be overconfident. We do make mistakes once in a while. We should keep improving ourselves and learn from our mistakes.

3. Compassion. Students have all kinds of excuses for not doing their homework, failing the test, not participating in class, and so on. Some excuses are not valid, but many of them are. Instead of punishing them, maybe we should try to apply positive enforcement on them. Make them want to do something voluntarily instead of forcing them to do so. We should always care about our students. Pay extra attention to those who do not come to class often, and those who cry or get angry all the time. Teachers are not saints. We cannot solve everyone’s problems. But we do care, that’s all it matters.
